WHO’s Medical devices report

In 2007 the World Health Organization (WHO), in collaboration with the Government of the Netherlands, started the “Priority Medical Devices” project to determine whether medical devices currently on the market were meeting the needs of health care providers and end-users throughout the world and if not, to propose research to identify (and action to remedy) inadequacies. The objective of the project is to bring medical devices to the attention of policy makers and to help guide both industry and government public health spending.

The final report of the project, “Medical devices: managing the mismatch” was presented on 09/09/2010 at the First WHO Global Forum on Medical Devices (9-11 September 2010, Bangkok, Thailand).
